Chai-Waffles with Bananas and Caramelized Walnuts

Ingredients
- 300 g flour
- 10 g baking soda
- 1 pinch of salt
- 60 g sugar + 100 g
- 100 g butter
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 l milk
- 3 tea bags of chai tea
- 2 tablespoons of cocoa bean Shell
- 50 g walnuts
- 50 g brown sugar
- At pleasure: some spoons of caramel sauce
Preparations
- Heat up milk and put in 2 tea bags and the cocoa bean shell and steep the mixture. (Tip: Put in the milk with the tea bags and the cocoa bean shell in the fridge and let it steep overnight.)
- Open the left tea bag and crush the tea leafs in a mortar.
- Blend the flour with the baking powder and the crushed tea.
- Melt butter and wait until it cooled down. Seven the tea-milk-drink. Add the liquid butter with salt, sugar and 2 eggs to the flour mixture. Slowly add in the milk and mix it up. Give the dough one hour of rest.
- Chop walnuts, add brown sugar in a pan and wait until you have light brown caramel. Add the walnuts and swivel them in the caramel. Remove the caramelized walnuts from the pan and let them cool down.
- Add some dough in portions in a waffle iron and bake it through.
- Serve the lukewarm waffles with chopped bananas, caramelized walnuts and caramel sauce.
