California Walnut Ramadan Pide

INGREDIENTS
- 1.5 cups ground California walnuts
- 5 cups all-purpose flour
- 2.5 cups warm water
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 15 grams fresh yeast or 2 tablespoons dry yeast
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
For the Healing Sauce
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tea glasses of water
- 1 tablespoon molasses
- nigella seeds and sesame seeds
PREPARATION
- Add flour, sugar, salt, and yeast to a bowl. Add warm water, then add milk and mix.
- Knead the dough, then shape it into pide and place it on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Let the dough rest for half an hour.
- For the sauce, mix 2 tablespoons of flour, 2 teaspoons of water, and 1 tablespoon of molasses.
- Spread this sauce over the rested dough, then sprinkle ground California walnuts on top. Add nigella seeds and sesame seeds.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 30 minutes.
- Once done, transfer to a serving plate and serve. Enjoy!
